I can’t help it - Michael Jackson (by oOgananaOo)

I was checking out jsmooth’s tumblr when I came across his post of the first hour of his radio show The Underground commemorating the 2nd anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death. Some of this song was played in a pretty cool MJ mix, which is why it’s stuck in my head.

Off the Wall is my favorite MJ album. You can hear so many different musical influences in the songs: jazz, disco, funk, soft rock, etc. He was really showing his stuff on here. While I found pleasure in listening to Thriller, Bad, Dangerous, as well as his other subsequent material, Off the Wall just has a little more spark to it, in my opinion. (Besides…Rock With You is on it, and that is my jam! I have yet to have a playlist without that song.)

Dawning - Tamaryn

I have a weak spot for females who can sing in a deep, rich alto timbre like Tamaryn. The voice fits in exceptionally well to the shoegazing aesthetic; although her vocals are more upfront, they are so thick that the guitars can be loud without having the vocals lost somewhere within the mix. It definitely sounds better than shrill, girly sopranos, that’s for sure.

I’m getting my shoegaze fix tonight!

Lately I haven’t been listening to much music at all, which is not the usual me. However, I just felt like I needed a palate cleanse. I’m now slowly getting into the music again (theCoolTV channel has been helping me out). So now, I’m happy to just let loose and absorb some music. Right now, I’m am in need of shoegaze and dreampop.

Mortal Kombat Review

I’m going to try to keep this short, but It’ll probably be pretty long even if I don’t really get into all of the details, so I’ll just add a page break. I’ll also end up doing a review for Portal 2, which I just rented. (I realized it has a 2 player mode, but its too complicated for my aunt to play so I’ve been playing it myself. In short, it’s really fun and I like it a lot.)

Photobooth from Suite 709 Unlocked: Austin “Suite Party” #1 at The Parish. (via trevoray)

I know I posted the live version of this song a while back, but “She Don’t Even Know” has been playing on repeat on my internal mp3 player for most of this evening. I’m definitely looking forward for Suite 709’s full length album.

OMG! I loved this episode of True Blood. Poor Tara…The whole thing with Tara and Franklin is crazy good. Franklin is just insane! I’m happy that Bill is still in love with Sookie (Although I knew he was). I’m loving the direction the story is taking with Eric. Now, I’m wondering (like everyone else) what exactly is Sookie. There is also something that is obviously wrong with Sam’s family that they are not revealing to Sam.

I can’t wait for next week. I can barely collect my thoughts. Fantastic episode!
