I had to channel Prince for this rant here. Anyways…

Earlier this week I decided to e-mail my grandfather who promised to call me Jan 5 2010, but never did. He told me in a response that he just didn’t call because he was having relationship issues with my grandmother and distanced himself from a lot of people.

Here’s my thing, our relationship is already fragile because for nearly seventeen years of my life my father and my grandpa was not in my life. I was basically the black sheep of my paternal family. So to just up and not contact me for an entire year and 5 months is unacceptable. People have issues, but don’t treat me like I’m an associate or someone who’s not related to you. I can see doing that to other people that are not close to you, but you don’t do that to your granddaughter that you already abandoned for nearly twenty years.
